Executive CoachingUnique to Strategic Partners, is a team of 12 highly experienced coaches who started providing leadership coaching before it was even fashionable –many are true pioneers in the field, involved with coach education and developing and influencing the standards of practice being adopted industry wide. They have worked together as a team and as sub groups on a variety of large-scale projects requiring both coaching and organizational development expertise. Since all executive coaching addresses behavioral change and/or business issues, we have chosen the following broad definitions to categorize our work in organizations and to demonstrate more precisely our team’s capabilities, while highlighting the various ways we may help your organization. Behavioral Coaching: Helping executives/leaders/managers increase effectiveness by achieving positive long-term change in interpersonal behavior, specifically by helping them to enhance relationships, increase ability to manage conflict and expand emotional intelligence. Strategy Coaching: Helping senior leaders new to leading a reorganized or acquired operation create a global business strategy. Focus is on setting the tone and long-term direction for an organization. Coaching for Organizational Change: Helping leaders/managers change organizations and attain aggressive performance goals. Focus is on capacity for innovation, strategic diversity, ability to execute new strategy and aggressively pursue performance goals. Coaching for Leadership Development: Helping organizational leaders to develop and retain key talent by installing systems that ensure a pipeline of capable future leaders. In this circumstance, a coach would strive to help an entire unit or organization not just individuals or teams. The coach tends to take on the role of teacher or architect. Career and Life Coaching: Helping individuals plan their careers and their lives. Here the focus is on personal growth with demonstrable value to the organization. This kind of coaching helps individuals and organizations make a connection between the holistic needs of knowledge workers and the bottom line needs of organizations. Team Coaching: Equipping teams with a flexible framework for developing and/or redefining their common mission, language and decision-making processes.
Members of our coaching panel have been selected because of their personal integrity, organizational savvy, and ability to interact with senior leaders and executives. Coaches are matched with clients based on industry background, level of experience, specific expertise and/or coaching style. All of our coaches are trained to facilitate a transformational learning process. By the end of a coaching engagement the boss, peers and direct reports of the coaching candidate should be able to point to observable behavior changes, and/or shifts in attitudes or approaches that have elevated the coached person’s ability to lead others. Jan Boxer, SPI's Executive Coaching Practice Leader, has a strong reputation in the Washington, DC area as a coach educator and has been recognized for her ability to develop new and well-established coaches.
